Crown Reduction
Pruning is often carried out to maintain or reduce a tree’s overall dimensions, generally where a tree has outgrown its available space. Every tree responds differently to pruning, but this will always be discussed and considered during our visit. The species of the tree and its suitability for pruning will be assessed and work carried will be done sympathetically, resulting in a natural appearance while achieving our customers needs. Crown reductions will also decrease canopy weight and wind-sail effect, which is highly beneficial for managing a tree mainly with structural defects.

Stump Removal
Although stumps can be left in the ground after tree removal, the decision to leave them, in some cases, can be problematic. Their unsightly nature, and potentially obstructing future landscaping are some reasons to remove the stump. Our tracked machine can get through most garden access gates, as narrow as 66cm. Stump grinding is the better option to minimise ground disturbance, and nearby hard and soft landscaping. A completely clear patch of ground is left where the tree once stood.

Hedge Maintenance
At Tree Solutions we carry out regular hedge trimming or “one off” jobs. We consider the time of year and where possible, avoid doing this during the bird nesting season. Of course it’s still legal to remove and trim hedges during that time, but a thorough inspection of the hedge must be done prior.
Crown Lifting
Crown lifting removes the lower branches to increase clearance beneath the tree for pedestrians, garden equipment, vehicles, buildings, or to improve line-of-sight. Crown lifting can also be done to increase light levels beneath the canopy for better grass and or plants. During our visit we will discuss the suitability of a crown lift and the effect it could have on the tree.
